Participate Ltd is a company registered in the United Kingdom. We specialise in public participation and consultation which sometimes requires that we collect personal information about you. Whenever possible we try to work with anonymised data, however, sometimes we will need to collect personal information (we will always ask your permission first). We will always keep this information to a bare minimum and it will only be used for research purposes and/or summarising participant responses. Quite often, with your agreement, we use third parties to collect this data and whenever we do so we ensure that we have a Data Sharing Agreement in place, which includes the steps we will take to protect your personal information.  When we collect personal data we will also provide you with a Privacy Notice detailing how your personal information will be protected.

We may collect information about you when you register with us or agree to participate in a public consultation or engagement project. We may also collect information when you voluntarily complete surveys, provide feedback and participate in other engagement activity. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you to understand your views and opinions regarding issues which may affect you as a stakeholder in a particular issue (for example changes to health services or local development proposals) whenever we can we will only collect anonymous data.  However, we may sometimes ask you to provide personal information for quality control purposes and to look after the integrity of a public consultation exercise or public engagement project. If you agree, we may ask for your email,  to invite you to take part in other public consultation or participation projects which may be interest to you.

How long we retain your data.

If you contact us we will keep your contact information indefinitely unless requested to erase those details.

Access to your information and correction 

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us at the following address. We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

How we protect your data.

Our staff are trained to ensure that no personal information is passed on to any third parties. Any data you pass on to us for contact purposes is kept on a password protected computer.

What data breach procedures we have in place.

We use industry standard computer security to protect all our data, any data breaches by staff is dealt with the highest disciplinary methods, and any cyber attack is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
